Crestron control, programming and NVX video for Bay Area offices

Complex rooms made simple to use: one clean interface, equipment that behaves, and video distributed over your network.

Quick answer

AV8 Technologies is Crestron Certified and programs Crestron control systems and NVX AV-over-IP in-house. The team that designs your rooms also writes the control program, so the interface matches how you actually work and nothing is lost in a hand-off.

What Crestron does in a conference room

Crestron control ties the room's equipment into a single, predictable experience. Instead of juggling remotes and input buttons, people touch one panel to power the room, choose a source, adjust volume and start the meeting. Behind it, the control program handles displays, audio, cameras and conferencing hardware, and resets everything for the next meeting.

Control programming

We write the control program for each room type, then reuse it across identical rooms so a rollout stays consistent. Our programmers work in Crestron's own tools, including SIMPL Windows, and integrate third-party equipment over IP, serial and IR.

  • Touch panel interfaces designed around the tasks people actually perform
  • Sensible defaults and automatic room reset between meetings
  • Integration with conferencing systems, displays, DSPs and cameras
  • Clear documentation, so your IT team is never locked out of their own system

If you already have a Crestron system that needs repair, extension or a rewrite, we can start with a review of the existing program and hardware.

NVX: AV over IP

Crestron NVX sends video and audio across a standard managed gigabit network instead of through a fixed matrix switch. Any source can reach any display, systems grow by adding endpoints, and one building can share signals across floors without dedicated cable runs.

The trade-off is that the network becomes part of the AV system. We plan the switch configuration, multicast handling and bandwidth with your IT team up front, because that is where AV-over-IP projects succeed or struggle. For a single room with two sources, a direct connection is often simpler, and we will say so.

One panel or two

In a Zoom or Teams room there is a real design choice: let the conferencing controller run the meeting while Crestron handles displays, audio and room functions, or put everything on a single Crestron panel. We lay out both options for you, with the trade-offs in plain terms.

Managing and supporting the system

After commissioning we can set up Crestron's XiO Cloud service so devices can be monitored and updated, and we remain available for support and changes as your rooms evolve.

Frequently asked questions

What is Crestron programming?

It is the software that tells a Crestron processor and touch panel how to run a room: what happens when someone presses "Start Meeting," how sources route to displays, how audio levels behave. It is written specifically for your room and equipment.

Is Crestron NVX better than a traditional HDMI matrix?

It depends on the project. NVX is more flexible and scales better across rooms and floors, but it requires a properly configured network. A small room with a few fixed sources is usually simpler and cheaper with direct connections or a small switcher.

Can you work on a Crestron system someone else installed?

Often, yes. We begin by reviewing the existing hardware and program, then recommend whether to repair, extend or rebuild.

Does Crestron work with Zoom Rooms and Biamp audio?

Yes. We regularly combine Zoom Rooms, Crestron control and Biamp DSP in larger rooms, including audio-over-IP between NVX and Biamp using AES67. See our planning guide.
